ArabyOnline imposes content indiscernible to many

It’s not a far-sighted online strategy to deliver content irrespectively of the language and location of the target users. Obviously, for some reason that’s not an issue to the creators of ArabyOnline, a web portal in Arabic that allows for no lingual choice. But even as odd as it is, this drawback is far from being the worst part about the entity under consideration.

In fact, ArabyOnline also denotes a piece of unwanted software impersonated as a browser extension or suchlike app. Its activity on the affected computer is all about hijacking the critical browsing preferences, namely the search engine selected as default and the homepage URL to be visited when the web browser is opened. To top it all off, this aggressive adware also changes the configuration for Windows shortcuts that are used to launch different applications installed on the compromised machine. All of these values suddenly start pointing to ArabyOnline.com which is the landing page proper for this despicable campaign.

ArabyOnline.com is not a threat in itself, and yet it does have shortcomings. First off, as it has been mentioned, there’s no language customizing option, which means lots of users, if not most of them, will simply fail to understand what it says. Secondly, it’s got banners and sponsored links, thus making the infected users participate in a large-scale ad campaign without asking if they are willing to. The main problem, though, is certainly the reason why you keep ending up on that page.

The answer is clear: there’s a virus inside the PC which makes this awful browser enslavement happen. Removing the ArabyOnline adware requires some skills and a special procedure to be followed, which is comprehensively highlighted in expert-made cleanup guides.
